    2. Amanda Nelson
    3. I'm recently new to genalogy research but I'm trying to find information about Shirley Siebeck(er?). I have that she married a Wally Zirk and they had 3 children. I've recently been told that Shirley is/was married to John Brand as well. Shirley's parents are Agatha Joas and Gilbert Siebeck(er?). She has a brother, Ronald, but I haven't found an informaion about him either. Any information that anyone might have would be much appreciated. Thanks! - Amanda __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Make a great connection at Yahoo! Personals. http://personals.yahoo.com

    1. [WIMONROE ] Indian Mounds in Wisconsin - Free lecture
    2. MAK
    3. FYI: Forwarded from another list: The free lecture on Indian Mounds in Wisconsin, which was to have been offered the week of the September 11 bombings, has been rescheduled. Lake Park Friends in Milwaukee is bringing in the authors of the recent book about Wisconsin mounds, Robert Birmingham and Leslie Eisenberg. Eisenberg just returned from New York and was quoted in today's Milwaukee Journal in an article about the difficulties of identifying the many dead there in the World Trade Center collapse. She acts as a forensic pathologist for the State Historical Society and volunteered her time for several weeks to assist in the extraordinary efforts necessary following this disaster in New York. Birmingham also works for the SHS of Wisconsin, as the state anthropologist. Please mark your calendar for 7 pm on October 17. That's next Wednesday. The lecture will be given in the community room of Lake Park Pavilion, where the Bistro restaurant occupies the first floor. The Pavilion is off the east end of Newberry Blvd, a few blocks from UWM. Parking is free, the lecture is free too. For more information, please call Delores, past president of the Friends, at 414) 332-0994. ===== =========================== MAK = "Mar sea ah Ann Keel" WI ACS http://www.rootsweb.com/~wigenweb/ MAKs Sites http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwood/links/MAK.html =========================== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? We have an ancestor whose place of residence (farm) was Trout Falls in the late 1800's and I wonder just what it might have been --a village, post office or just a "wide spot in the road" before it was destroyed. 3. There is a Trout Falls in the Fort McCoy area. My dad says it isn't anything like it used to be. In fact, I have my Aunt's copy of the Monroe County Pictorial History 1976. It has some photos of Trout Creek around 1900. According to the book, it was destroyed by artillary fire of training troops. If you don't have any access to this book, I would be willing to send you a copy. 1. RE: Braman Photos...HELP!!!!!
    2. John Buck, Jr.
    3. To paraphrase an old Radio/TV program: Those Are My Lines.....! Patsy: We've corresponded before, so you have my connection to the BRAMAN/SPOONER lines in an E-mail from last June. If you can scan the photos and send them to me, I will be happy to identify the ones that I know. I would assume that we have similar photos, as our families were close and exchanged things frequently. I can't remember where you live, or even if I have an address for you, but if you're anywhere near Tomah, Wisconsin, there are a couple of other ways to identify your photos.... Did you ever check on the reference I mentioned to you in June? The Elder John Crandall Of Rhode Island And His Descendants - by John Cortland Crandall - New Woodstock, New York 1949 - has quite a bit of data concerning our older BRAMAN and SPOONER relatives. I've done a bit of work with that book, but because I've been focusing on the more recent generations, haven't spent a lot of time on it. For some reason or other, my BRAMAN family focused on Roswell Emerson Braman and Chloe Spooner's descendants, and primarily on those who remained in close touch with Tomah! By the way, did you see the Editorial concerning Tomah in the Friday New York Times? Interesting..... It mentions the Tee Pee restaurant, and that was a theater that my grandfather, Roy Smith, built in the 1920's. It was a stable, but my grandfather and great grand uncle, Mark Johnson, turned it into a movie house during the days when they had stage shows (Wild Bill Hitchcock, Dunninger the magician, etc.) as well. He was in the theater business for many years. Perhaps that's where I got the notion! Best wishes. 2. Karla Staudt
    3. Patsy, Ask and relatives still living, old friends of the family, old neighbors, (anyone old) who might know who they are. I don't know if the MCLHR has a spot, but some places will allow you to put them on display with a sheet of paper underneath for people to look at and jot down their comments. Compare with old photos of people you do know - you may be able to then at least determine which family you are looking at. A good resource for trying to pin the date the picture was taken and other clues within is called "Unlocking the Secrets in Old Photographs" by Karen Frisch-Ripley. It is in paperback and can be ordered through ancestry.com and probably most bookstores as well.
