William did have a son later in life with a second wife---Charles who still lives in Tomah.

    2. My great grandfather's brother George Murison married Lydia E Wallace November 26, 1868 in Portage, Columbia Co. Wisconsin. She was born to Mr & Mrs John Wallace in Crown Point, Essex Co., New York on March 10, 1843 and died July 16, 1917 in Portage. This information was obtained from her obituary. I also have the name of William Wallace b. September 6, 1824 as being Lydia's brother. I'll have to root around in my files for that source. Virginia Murison Whitcomb

However, I still wonder if they may be connected in some way. A thread of evidence to support this theory is found in the following: A brother of my William A. Wallace [1824-1894] was named John Wallace [b. 1822, NY] who had a son named Albert C. Wallace [b. 1857, NY]. John married Eliza Ann Thompson on 4 June 1845 in Ticonderoga, Essex County, NY. I've never uncovered the meaning of the "A" in Wm A. Wallace. It's possible it may also be for Albert. Although I am confident that the father of Wm A. Wallace and his brother John was also named John, I do not know the given name of the next generation back. Could it also be Albert Wallace?? There seems to be two given names in common here, Lydia and Albert.

He was taken in by Fred and Martha Block in Sparta, Monroe Cty, WI around 1905, as the story goes, because his birth family could not afford to keep him. I am wondering if there is an index for children who were in the Sparta Childrens Home around that time as I am thinking he may have gone there prior to his placement with the Blocks. It sounds as if you are looking for living people. If that is the case, this is a genealogy site and we deal primarily with deceased ancestors. If George MILLER is deceased please give dates of when he died or lived in Monroe County, otherwise this is far too general... I recommend checking an on-line phonebook for living people. In a quick check, this is what I found: Adolph Dovorak 8044 W Church St Niles, IL 60714 Phone: 847-983-4898 O Prochnow 3528 Atwood Ave Madison , WI (608) 241-0708 Carl Gail Dvorak 1301 Lincoln Ave Tomah , WI (608) 372-3501 Dorothea Dvorak 1423 Superior Ave Tomah , WI (608) 372-5822 Richard Dvorak 31610 Fresno Ave Tomah , WI (608) 372-6879 NameDatePlaceDatePlace Dovorak, Anna Adeline30 JUN 1863 Francis Creek,Manitowoc, WI 3 MAY 1932 Antigo,Langlade,WI Father: Frank Dvorak Mother: Katirina Spouse: Thomas Wilson Leslie contact - unknown email <lmartin@mail.cdsnet.net> I see an alt spelling of DVORAK - you might try this. 1920 Census (selected counties) Dvorak, Antonia Age: 69 Year: 1920 Birthplace: Bohemia Roll: T625_1975 Race: White Page: 2B State: Wisconsin ED: 1 County: Adams Township: Adams Dvorak, Frank Age: 45 Year: 1920 Birthplace: Bohemia Roll: T625_1975 Race: White Page 2B State: Wisconsin ED: 1 County: Adams Township: Adams Dvorak, Martha Age: 32 Year: 1920 Birthplace: Deutschland Roll: T625_1981 Race: White Page: 19B State: Wisconsin ED: 55 County: Dane Township: Madison Dvorak, Hazen Age: 39 Year: 1920 Birthplace: Wisconsin Roll: T625_1990 Race: Indian Page: 6B State: Wisconsin ED: 68 County: Juneau Township: Germantown Dvorak, James Age: 49 Year: 1920 Birthplace: Bohemia Roll: T625_1990 Race: White Page: 5B State: Wisconsin ED: 75 County: Juneau Township: Necedah Wisconsin Marriages, 1835-1900 Name Spouse Marriage Date County State FORMANEK, JOHN DVORAK, KATE 19 Sep 1875 Grant WI DVORAK, JOHN KUCERA, MARY 28 Sep 1897 Grant WI Wisconsin Deaths, 1820-1907 Dvorak Death Date: 13 Feb 1907 County: Milwaukee Volume: 34 Page: 0684 Reel: 098 Agnes Dvorak Death Date: 04 Jul 1907 County: Milwaukee Volume: 35 Page: 0433 Reel: 099 Index Volume: 11 Anna Dvorak Death Date: 18 May 1906 County: La Crosse Volume: 03 Page: 0388 Reel: 045 Anton Dvorak Death Date: 08 Nov 1879 County: Kewaunee Volume: 01 Page: 0031 Reel: 041 Anton Dvorak Death Date: 14 Nov 1899 County: Grant Volume: 02 Page: 0458 Reel: 031 Barbara Dvorak Death Date: 23 Aug 1900 County: Kewaunee Volume: 01 Page: 0336 Reel: 042 Cora Dvorak Death Date: 02 Dec 1895 County: Crawford Volume: 01 Page: 0275 Reel: 013 Frank Dvorak Death Date: 30 Mar 1897 County: Saint Croix Volume: 01 Page: 0264 Reel: 119 John Dvorak Death Date: 18 Dec 1898 County: La Crosse Volume: 02 Page: 0240 Reel: 044 John Dvorak Death Date: 20 Mar 1900 County: Racine Volume: 04 Page: 0126 Reel: 113 Index Volume: 01 John F Dvorak Death Date: 18 May 1907 County: Milwaukee Volume: 35 Page: 0184 Reel: 099 Index Volume: 11 Jos Dvorak Death Date: 26 Dec 1899 County: Milwaukee Volume: 25 Page: 0093 Reel: 086 Index Volume: 08 Joseph Dvorak Death Date: 24 Aug 1899 County: Racine Volume: 04 Page: 0073 Reel: 112 Index Volume: 01 Joseph Dvorak Death Date: 31 Mar 1879 County: Kewaunee Volume: 01 Page: 0030 Reel: 041 Joseph Dvorak Death Date: 28 Nov 1899 County: La Crosse Volume: 02 Page: 0337 Reel: 044 Josephine Dvorak Death Date: 01 Jan 1900 County: La Crosse Volume: 02 Page: 0345 Reel: 044 Lizzie Dvorak Death Date: 09 Oct 1889 County: Richland Volume: 01 Page: 0099 Reel: 114 Mary Dvorak Death Date: 04 Oct 1905 County: Manitowoc Volume: 04 Page: 0438 Reel: 051 Index Volume: 02 Mary Dvorak Death Date: 28 Oct 1880 County: La Crosse Volume: 01 Page: 0064 Reel: 042 Wenzel Dvorak Death Date: 14 Dec 1906 County: Grant Volume: 03 Page: 0333 Reel: 032 WI Births (selected counties) pre 1907 Dvorak Birth Date: 18 Jul 1905 County: Juneau Reel: 0092 Record: 001672 Dvorak Birth Date: 10 Oct 1906 County: Juneau Reel: 0092 Record: 002552 Antoinette Dvorak Birth Date: 18 May 1907 County: Juneau Reel: 0321 Record: DX0362 Elizabeth Dvorak Birth Date: 14 Jul 1903 County: Juneau Reel: 0321 Record: DX0521 James Dvorak Birth Date: 05 Feb 1905 County: Juneau Reel: D0008 Record: 018590 Since Tomah is in Monoe County, WI, I will post this to the MonroeCoWI Message Board - Be advised that Madison would be in Dane County, WI, so you would need to make a separate query to that board if you require assistance. 3. Thank you for your kind words, but it was really Audrey Johnson (prior to her retirement) and her staff of VOLUNTEERS who provided most of the information found on the site. I am happily posting your kudos to the Mailing List, so that the Monroe research room knows just how happy you are for their FREE services... Looks as if there is a connection here as my great grandfather was Alfred John Buss, born at Pluckley, Kent in England in 1857. Married to Caroline, and had two sons, Alfred (b.1885) and Percy (b.1891).
