For those of you who have been notified that individuals are having problems accessing the FTP records filed on rootsweb in the USGenWeb Archives, here is something to note. Please feel free to pass it on to your Mailing Lists. R/S MAK --- James wrote: Marcia, I just figured out my problem downloading the FTP cemetery pages on the Monroe Co. site! Here is one to keep for future reference! I connect to the internet using a DSL Cable modem high speed connection, my operating system on my computer is Microsoft Windows XP, and my web browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. My problem was that I couldn't access FTP sites and make downloads. Answer- In the "Internet Options" folder of Internet Explorer there is an "Advanced" tab. There are many options that can be checked on or off on the advanced page. Under the "Browsing" heading of that section is a box that must be checked on if using a firewall or DSL connection. It reads, "Use passive FTP(for firewall and DSL modem compatability)." I have had no problems since turning on this feature, maybe this will help someone else who is ripping out their hair! Thanks again, James ===== MAKTranscriber - http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiwood http://www.rootsweb.com/~wiportag http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimonroe __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Luella Jensen Loe, born 12/15/1894-died 11/1975. Both are buried at St. John's Evenagelical Lutheran Cemetery in or near Sparta. In 1920 Selmer and Luella were living in Tainter, Dunn County, Wis, but by 1930 they were in Sparta. They had 2 daughters, Mildred Loe (born about 1916) and J. Lorraine Loe (born about 1918). I suspect there were other children. I am working on the family of Luella Jensen. Her father was Bernt Jensen of Oppland Norway, who came to Wisconsin in the 1880's. Bernt was my great uncle. He married Petrine Larsdatter of Toten, Norway. Petrine died in Dane county in 1907 and Bernt took the children and moved to Tainter, Dunn County. Luella's siblings were Helmer Jensen (b 5/30/1893 Dane County), Oscar John Jensen (b 1/22/1899 Dane County), Theodore Ingvald Jensen (b 2/2/1902 Dane County) and Arthur Sanford Jensen (b 2/27/1905 Dane County. I found a couple of other Loes in Sparta in the Soc sec death index...may be related. C. Loe (1938-1993) & Harley Loe (1935-1999). There also were more Loes born in the 1920's who lived in Eau Claire. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jinger Mandt

I read somewhere in Monroe County history that a group of people "came from Cattaragus County New York". Since my FARNHAM people came from there in the late 1860s-early 1870s I wonder who they might have known in Monroe County while there were there. I have viewed the 1870 census and don't recognize any names, but that does not mean there aren't somewhere else in the county. My people lived in Leon Twp. Susanne
