" ( So this says he was buried in Montana) Mrs. McFalls secured affidavits from the superintendent of the hospital ,the attending physician and the undertaker to enable her to secure the insurance of $1,000 held by her husband and the pension to which she is entitled as a widow of a veteran. The farm consisted of 234 acres. The farm was purchased from Fred et ux by the U.S. government sometime between 1940 & 1942 and is now included in the Fort McCoy military reservation. The barn basement is crumbling but is still recognizable as is the house foundation. The apple trees in the front yard were still bearing up until a couple years ago, and of course the usual lilac bushes are still thriving.

R/S MAK http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimonroe +++ Hello , I look at microfilm a bit. Are you in the Civil War Project?. January 19, 1919 there is an obituary for Charles E. Loomer. This is posted on gen-forum under Loomer. He was a veteran of the Civil War and is according to Obituary buried in Oak Grove Cemetery. Also his wife is listed buried there also. Tomah Journal was January of 1919 does not give exact date of death. The Loomers did not have immediate family so wonder if no stone is there for them. Also again in the Tomah paper April 4, 1919 in an obit for Mrs. Martha Griswold mentioned her husband fought in the civil war --Samuel H. Griswold. Buriel at OakGrove Cemetery. Also found a obit for James J. Jeffries a resident here for many years and a Veteran of the Civil War. One of his children Mrs. Frank Edgerton lives in Tomah. Does not say where he was buried. He died at his home in Austin ,MN on March 27, 1919. Tomah Journal -April 11,1919 Signed, Ann Pape <gpape@centurytel.net+++>

The following information is what I have so far. Based on the names that I have found in the Kendall Cemetery of St Joseph's Church and census records. My name is Kristin Elizabeth Chase, I was born 01/20/1977 in Ft. Riley, Kansas. I'm hoping that there is someone out there that may hae more information, b/c I've hit a wall, so to speak. My Dad's maternal side of the family is Irish and Czechslovocian. Nice mix, but anyway. My dad's name is David Russell Chase b. 02/18/1954, he is the son Eldon Francis and Catherine Joan (Riley) Chase. Catherine is a daughter of Michael William Riley (a.k.a William Michael Riley) and Elizabeth "Libby" Sladek. Michael William Riley is a son of Peter J. and Julia A. (Collins) Riley. Julia is a daughter of Michael and Catherin Collins. This is where my information stops. The following is the detailed information that I have w/ the previous mentioned individuals. Catherine Joan Riley (b. 01/14/1930 Vernon County, Wisconsin d. 05/11/1991 Mauston, Juneau County, Wisconsin; buried St. Joseph's Cemetary, Kendall, Wisconsin) married Eldon Francis Chase (b. 08/25/1929 Mt. Tabor, Wisconsin d. 12/17/2000 Necadah, Wisconsin; Buried: also in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Kendall, Wisconsin. Michael William Riley (b. 06/13/1889 Wisconsin d. 1946 Wisconsin; buried St. Joseph's Cemetery, Kendall, Wisconsin) married Elizabeth 'Libby' Sladek (b. 03/03/1903 Mt. Tabor, Wisconsin, d. 06/11/1979 St. Jospeh's Hospital, Hillsboro, Wisconsin; buried, 06/12/1979 St. Joseph's Cemetery, Kendall, Wisconsin) on 01/03/1928. Peter J. Riley was born some time in 1847 in either Ireland or Massachuetts, depending on who his parents were. Peter J. Riley married Julia A. Collins some time btwn 1880-1899. Julia died 11/29/1899. A Katie and Charles Riley are also listed on the sides of her tombstone in the Kendall Cemetery. Katie b. 08/01/1886 d. 05/12/1902 and Charles b. 09/01/1884 d. 08/27/1908. Julia had a brother John J. Collins also buried in the Kendall Cemetery. There is a Catherine Collins (1811-1913) buried in the Kendall Cemetery, whom I believe to be Julia and John's Mother. She is listed on the census records for 1880 and 1860, and the year of birth is simular, but then where is Michael Collins, b/c he does not appear on any census records that I have been able to find after 1860. Any assistance would be welcome. Thank you, kristin
