As far as I know, the vital records would have to be requested from the courthouse or from a lookup volunteer or a paid researcher. The website is: http://www.milwaukeecounty.org/service/serviceDetail.asp?id=1094 You can only get film for the birth, death and marriages before 1907 (and the indexes are on Ancestry.com). But since your people came later, you would need to go directly to the courthouse and look through the hard copy books and transcribe the materials. If you want them to send you copies, it's expensive, as you'll note at the website above. Sometimes people on this list make trips to the courthouse and have a bit of extra time to help out, but I don't know if anyone has a trip scheduled anytime soon. The main family made up of my grandmother's parents, John Grimes, born in Llangwm, Pembrokeshire, Wales, mother Sarah and sons Harry and Cyril and daughter Nellie, emigrated to Milwaukee in 1915 from Gillingham in Kent, although I believe two of the sons, George and Thomas may have arrived earlier in 1913. >Nellie married in Wisconsin and had twin daughters, (I have a photo of Nellie and the girls); Cyril was drowned at the " New Lido" in 1916 at the age of 16. >I have found Harry in the 1920 census "28street" and George in "29 Street". >Does any of this ring a bell with anyone and how can I get access to the "births, marriages and deaths" of Milwaukee? >Any help would be greatly appreciated. > >Best wishes, > >Harold Spurgeon, Auckland, New Zealand. > > >==== WIMILWAU Mailing List ==== >For subscribe/unsubscribe and other general list information, please see >http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sewis/wimilwau.htm > >============================== >View and search Historical Newspapers.
