Lenora, Could you ask the Register of Deeds if they have a Platt map book for the area surrounding the town of Jefferson between the years of November 1868--- 27 July 1870...or a land purchase from either a George MICHEL(S) or wife/widow Anna Marie (MICHEL(S) or a son Joseph MICHEL(S) to another person during that time-frame? I am trying to locate the farm on which George, wife Anna Marie, and son Joseph MICHEL(S) lived on between November 1868--- 27 July 1870...They moved to Jefferson County after the 1860 US Federal Census. George may be buried on that farm... Perhaps it may be best to print out this info and take it with you to the courthouse... I will be happy to pay copy costs/postage and what you would like for your time--up to $30.00. I have a much later plat book of Jefferson Co. I can't find a date for the book. In it I found: Michel Vic. Post Office Oconomowoc RR 3 Sec. 16 0 Michel Eric Post Office Cambridge RR 1 Sec. 3 0 Michel Otto, Mary Post Office Waterloo RR 2 Sec. 15 0 Michel Eugene Post Office Jefferson RR3 Sec 31 Could be possible descendants. i hope this can help you.
