Hi, My Great Uncle Franz/Frank Heinrich Louis Fuhrmann married Wilhelmina Johanna Dorothea Frey on Nov 27, 1879 in Milwaukee. She is the D/O; Otto Frey & Friedericke Gustmann Frey . He was around 20 at marriage. I had been unable to locate them together in any census so decided to check out her parents. Lo & behold Mina shows up in 1880 census 5th Ward Milwaukee living with her parents as a 22 yr old Widow working in her fathers Tailor shop. Can anyone who has access to Milwaukee City directories look in Directories from 1877 up to the mid 1890's to try & answer these questions? Did Mina work in her fathers Tailor shop prior to marriage? Did she have to work in the shop in 1880/81 to support a possible child on the way? Is she listed in 1880 as a Frey or a Fuhrmann? Does a Franz or Frank Fuhrmann show up in any Directories from 1877 up to 1882 as possibly a carpenter or a cabinet maker or a shoemaker? He resided at 620 Hubbard St 6th Ward prior to marriage. I'm hoping that the directories can tell when Mina started & stopped working for her father & if a baby shows up in late 1880-early 1881 & trying to determine approx time frame Franz/Frank may have died. No marriage shows for her from 1880 to 1910 in Milwaukee Co. No death shows for Franz or Frank in Milwauke Co nor in state from 1879 up to 1900. I checked out a few cemeteries & find Frank unlisted. I have a relative currently writing to Union cem in Milwauke to see if Frank is listed. Open to any & all suggestions-ideas-anything. Thank you for any possible help on this mystery, Kathy
