    1. [WIMILWAU] Daniel Boyle, 1835-1905?
    2. Wendy--since writing you on Saturday, I too (along with Ellen) was thinking that in addition to checking Wood National Cemetery burials (which apparently do not include Daniel Boyle), you should contact the adjoining historic old Soldiers Home of Milwaukee (also formerly NW Home DVS ), now known as Zablocki VA Center. Their records might well show that your guy Daniel died there in, say, 1905-- but was perhaps buried with his wife Margaret (who reportedly predeceased him), elsewhere in Wisconsin-- maybe Marquette Co.? For what this is worth, my understanding is that the old Soldiers Home, first opened just after the Civil War, is situated (very attractively) on an very erosion resistant outcropping of a tropical, 440 million year old Silurian reef. It would seem fortunate that your Daniel Boyle, a naturalized widower, is clearly listed in the 1900 census at the old Soldiers Home-- revealing a birth date of Aug 1835 (age 64) in Ireland + an immigration date of 1860. (Maybe he's "absent" when the census taker arrived because he was getting his beard trimmed.) Presumably all this census data ties in fine with other info you have on him.
