    3. Arlene, Yes, the names are correctable, there is a little "box" on the upper right side of the page, where you can sumit corrections. My mother was entered by the census taker as a boy, just becasue her name was LaVerne, which is how a female spells it, where as he wrote it Lavern, which is a male spelling.
