    3. HI A while back I heard that Ancestry was having their indexes read and recorded "off shore," hence the strange outcome of some names. Now I am wondering if they are also going back and looking at the indexing that was done on the censuses and redoing them.I know that a few years back I found with no trouble the Borowicz family on the 1900 census. I have now decided to go back and transcribe the data into my gen program. I used the search (soundex) and still nothing came back. I had the Ed and Page info so I looked for it that way. Yes I found them but wondered how they were indexed. I had a real laugh at this one - Belmarez. Also the wifes name is Julia and they have it listed as John. Has anyone else found a change in the index? Arleen -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. 3. Arlene - I found changes, too, but cannot remember which of my ancestor's it was. I had to do the same thing you did, come at it from a different direction (street by street). At least on FreeBMD you can contact the website and tell them that a name is misspelled. Maybe Ancestry will offer this service soon. -----Original Message----- From: wimilwau-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:wimilwau-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Arleen Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2007 11:00 AM To: wimilwau@rootsweb.com Subject: [WIMILWAU] Ancestry HI A while back I heard that Ancestry was having their indexes read and recorded "off shore," hence the strange outcome of some names. 3. It does offer that service now. There is a link where you can tell them of the error. They don't correct it but do offer the alternate name in searches. I have made many corrections that way.
