I grew up in Waukegan, IL and lived there for 21 years. I only remember one mail delivery a day except at Christmas time, when the Post Office would hire a lot of extra postmen, and we would have several mail deliveries a day. Yes, and I remember when we didn't even seal all those cards we sent--we just turned the flaps in on the envelopes. I still remember walking them up to the corner mailbox for my mom. Yes, and having the cards taped all over the French doors to our living room--it really made us kids anticipate Christmas.
