thanks for the info...I'm really trying to track down why my grandfather was put in an orphanage in the late 1880's. His 2 younger twin sisters were adopted by 2 different families. I'm speculating that their mother died given birth or shortly thereafter. The father, Frank, kept the older children in Racine. My grandfather evently left the orphanage on his own and kept in touch with a few of his siblings.
