    3. After trying a few sights I finally got the phone # for Forest Hill Cem in Oak Creek. Secrtetary verified he was ours by giving me the next of kin name & address plus city of birth. He is buried in Sect 10, Block 35, Lot 34, Base 4 & has a Marker-Possibly a Veterans Marker. She made no mention as to IF anyone else was buried with him. Would still like to find the Mortuary used to see what info theymight have. Perhaps this ties in with why they thought he was buried in "Potter's Field." But the cemetery probably wouldn't have much more information than what was on the death cert. When I have looked at cemetery records, all they usually have is the date, place of burial and who else is in the plot (IF it was a family plot)--not information on parents and birthplace. Interesting that the burial was a month and a half after the death. mrf Kathy wrote: > I received in the mail Tuesday Albert Kubitz death cert. 3. Speaking of mortuaries, what happens to the records after a funeral parlor closes? Most of the places my relatives were waked at are closed? Any ideas?? That would be interesting to know. -----Original Message----- From: wimilwau-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:wimilwau-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Kathy Sent: Friday, June 08, 2007 9:16 AM To: wimilwau@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WIMILWAU] Questions on Albert Kubitz death cert After trying a few sights I finally got the phone # for Forest Hill Cem in Oak Creek. 3. Well, I know that old college records are stored at a variety of places--some are in the UW-Milwaukee archives here and some are at another location designated by the State Records Board (not sure of the exact title of this body). Someone with some time to search could go to wisconsin.gov and look around for information on what happens to old records. It would probably be found in the section related to the Dept. of Administration. That doesn't mean every mortuary would have done the right thing and turned their records over. I don't have a clue what the rules are for such businesses, but that would be the place to look. There is probably some state mortuary group, too. I think someone posted about it in the past. mrf Dale Schmitz wrote: > Speaking of mortuaries, what happens to the records after a funeral parlor > closes?
