There is a further link from the article to the research bibliography (with some very interesting topics included). I think it shows another thing the census can be used for--it's not all genealogy, unfortunately! For any genealogists of Japanese ancestry, census research would be tinged with the bittersweet, I'm sure. I posted this in case anyone else has a wider interest in the census (as I do). mrf
