Hello, I have been looking for my great uncle Theodore Paschke. I have not found him on the 1910, 1920 nor 1930 US census using multiple search strategies. I do have his WWI draft card and he lived at 1804 Greenbay Avenue. I would think that on the 1920 census he should be living close to that address if not at the same place. Any ideas on which Ward or ED this address would be? I'm ready to browse census rolls, but would like to cut down on unnecessary Wards or EDs. Thank you. Dan, I did some digging in the Wright Directories for Milwaukee. Found some Paschke's, but Theodore was elusive and turned up only twice. No Theodore found in 1913, 1916, 1918, 1919, 1921, 1922, 1923. (I didn't have access to directory books for 1914, 1915, 1917, 1920, 1925.) He shows up in 1924: Paschke, Theo clk Fred Hoffmann r 1908 Pt Wash av In the reverse directory pages, there is no 1908, but there is: Hoffmann, Fred (Gertrude) soft drinks 1809 Pt Wash av h do Theodore Paschke is not listed in the reverse directory pages. Fred Hoffmann shows up repeatedly at this address for the years before and after this sighting of Theodore. I checked the 1920 census and found Fred Hoffmann listed as running a saloon. There were many employees and boarders listed at the same address, but no sign of Theodore in the 1920 census. I haven't checked an old map yet, but the area where he lived on Green Bay (Green Bay and Lake then; Green Bay and Capitol now) is near modern-day Pt. Washington Rd., which I assume (until I pull up a map) was then Pt. Washington av. Then nothing on Theodore Paschke in 1926, 1927. He shows up again in 1928: Paschke, Theo glazier r 47 7th In the reverse directory, I find only these folks at that address: 47 Horvath Julia Mrs 47-1/2 George, John 47 7th (St.) would be in roughly the same vicinity as 1804 Green Bay and 1809 Pt. Washington. Then nothing on Theodore Paschke in 1929, 1930. He shows up again in 1931: Paschke, Theo r2818 W. North Ave. In the reverse directory, I found this listing at that address: Graetz, Adolph M In the regular listing I found: Graetz, Adolph M (Francis) lab h2818 W. North Ave. This is in a totally different part of town from the previous addresses. 2818 W. North av. was the address POST the 1930 street changes. Theodore did not show up in the 1932 or 1933 directories (and I didn't look beyond 1933). Adolph Graetz lived at the 2818 W. North Ave. address in the 1930, 1931, 1932 directories (I didn't check earlier). But in 1933 we have only the wife: Graetz, Frances A. Mrs I did not check the 1930 census for Adolph Graetz. This man seems to have worked at a variety of jobs and lived in a variety of places. But he was here! mrf Quoting DFantore@aol.com: Hello, I have been looking for my great uncle Theodore Paschke.
