Hi, The Town of Lake is now St. Francis and part of the City of Milwaukee known as Bay View, all in Milwaukee County. Cudahy was never part of the Town of Lake. On the corner of 6th St. and Howard Ave is a large water tower and I believe that above the door is engraved, Town of Lake. That means that the Town of Lake went from Lake Michigan, through St. Francis and to at least 6th St. I don't believe it went any farther west. There are still some sidewalks in St. Francis with the Town of Lake stamp on them. And I'm not positive on this but I believe that the City of St. Francis was incorporated in the early 1950s, thus erasing the Town of Lake. By the way, that water tower is across the street from St. Adalbert's Cemetery. I believe some members of this list are looking for or have ancestors buried there. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, but I didn't say that Cudahy was part of the Town of Lake. I said parts of it (the Town of Lake) are now in Cudahy. The Cudahy Historical Society web page mentions that there was a school in the Town of Lake on Whitnall and Grange Avenues. That area is now part of Cudahy.
