    3. Peg, My granparents were first married in Waukegan Ill. in 1928.(Yet they both lived in Waukesha). I have 2 marriage certificates, the first in Waukegan the second showing married in Waukesha just six days later, My grandmother was only 15 years old at the time so I'm assuming that maybe there was no law of age limit? Yet I can't explain why then 8 days later they were remarried in Waukesha? Interesting! 3. Deanna, Your grandparents got married without their parents' permission, necessary in Wisconsin, and after the kids returned home, in great wrath and lamenting, the parents gave in and got them married again, in a ceremony everyone thought was more legal. They maybe even got a minister the second time, and had a cake and a reception. Families are fascinating, Ashley Deanna wrote: > Peg, > My granparents were first married in Waukegan Ill. in 1928.(Yet they both > lived in Waukesha). > I have 2 marriage certificates, the first in Waukegan the second showing > married in Waukesha just six days later, > My grandmother was only 15 years old at the time so I'm assuming that maybe > there was no law of age limit?
