    3. Indirectly(not really) Milwaukee question: Since there are so many German families in the Milwaukee area, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with using/hiring professional/private researchers in Germany to get information(e.g. birth records and such); I realize that the quality probably varies from person to person and area to area; but how does one know if ones that are advertised are reputable?? Is there a professional organization that provides guidance and/or information regarding quality? And has anyone had problems getting information from Germany from another researcher due to their privacy laws?? Thanks for any info you might have!! 3. I have hired a German researcher who is very reliable and her fees are reasonable. She has helped find my family and while most searches, she tells me, don't take so long, my surname was quite common at the time; therefore, she is still doing research for me. It's still cheaper than making a trip over there, hire someone to help locate the records and get interpretation. She has access to records more freely because she is an experienced researcher and is known at the Archives. While some of what she has found has also been found in the films of LDS, in many cases, the copies were better and she could interpret the information, besides being able to verify our records were that of our family. If you would like additional information, please contact me off list. Linda McGoey tlmcgoey@athenet.net ----- Original Message ----- From: Pamela J.
