My mother passed away in June 2001. When I checked on my e-mails from while I was gone--9 months--there were 3900 of them..I went to my server and asked them if they could download them on a zip or CD--they said they couldn't. I explained my fear that if I downloaded all of them, it might "crash" my computer--so they told me how to read them while still on their server. My husband, Gregg, saw this advertisement about an on-line pharmacy--but didn't have enough memory to download the info--so he insisted on using my computer, insisting that I download the 3900 messages to give him enough space for this company to send the info. By downloading the 3900 messages, my system contracted a virus and wiped out my whole computer. During "clean-up" of the virus, I lost all of my 3900 messages, all my email addresses and all my bookmarks...and an unknown amount of family history. I have the new version of McAfee and am using it before opening my mail.
