Anybody on this list have ancestors who worked at the Milwaukee Telephone Co. back in the 20's? My Grandma Frank worked there and I have many pictures of outings she took with friends from the work I would be willing to photocopy for anyone who might have ancestors who worked there. She said those were the best days of her life. Obviously, she enjoyed the single life, but I'm glad she eventually married and had kids or I wouldn't be here, at least in my present form!
My grandmother worked there-Lillian Freitag, as did her sister, Irene. Anyone by that name? -----Original Message----- From: Mary Frank [mailto:MRFRANK@des.uwm.edu] Sent: Thursday, May 02, 2002 5:17 PM To: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WiMilwau] Early Milwaukee Telephone Co. Hi, Along the lines of old photographs... My grandmother worked at the Pfister Hotel. My grandfather worked at the Milwaukee Athletic Club and was also a member of the Royal Order of Moose in Milwaukee. I have a lot of old picture of the Moose Gatherings and some of my grandmother out back of the Pfister--along with a PERTZBORN girl...guess her father owned a Funeral Home or something... Anyone interested in these pictures, please let me know. These would be from around 1915--1922 time frame.
