    3. Hi folks, As many may know, there is a particularly nasty virus going around now called Klez H. There is some further information on it at http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1105-887354.html This is a very good time to update your antivirus program and be extra cautious about attachments. Klez is a bit different in that it forges the "FROM" name on virus infected email. If you receive an email from a friend with the virus attached it is virtually certain that the email is NOT from your friend, merely that your friends name has been forged on the email. Which brings me to my point. Earlier today I received an off list note from a subscriber concerned that someone on the Milwaukee list may be infected with Klez. It is obviously hard to tell who, if anyone, it may be with a forged address. If you have received a Klez infected email it would be EXTREMELY helpful for me if you sent the infected email to me off list with the FULL headers. If you don't know how to get full headers, then post a note to the list....someone should know. Full headers will show the originating IP number (ISP) which is not forged and if I can get 2 or 3 I might have a chance of tracking that back. A sample of full headers appears below my signature at the end of this note. Also, if you think you received a Klez infected email from this list but have deleted it, please drop me a note off list. Finally, if there really is an infected computer on the list, I should also get a virus back in the next day or so. Thanks for the help with this problem, Bob Fay List Administrator Full headers look like this: Received: from lists7.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.56] by mail.clsurf.com with ESMTP (SMTPD32-7.06) id A42F9A3025A; Sat, 04 May 2002 16:35:43 -0500 Received: (from slist@localhost) by lists7.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id g44LKiZ00898; Sat, 4 May 2002 15:20:44 -0600 Resent-Date: Sat, 4 May 2002 15:20:44 -0600 X-Original-Sender: Chommert@aol.com Sat May 4 15:20:43 2002 From: Chommert@aol.com Message-ID: <194.6863467.2a05aa99@aol.com> Date: Sat, 4 May 2002 17:20:25 EDT Old-To: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 4.0 for Windows 95 sub 113 Subject: [WiMilwau] Re: WIMILWAU-D Digest V02 #41 Resent-Message-ID: <Nnwl1B.A.pN.rCF18@lists7.rootsweb.com> To: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com Resent-From: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com Reply-To: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com X-Mailing-List: <WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com> archive/latest/4264 X-Loop: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com Precedence: list Resent-Sender: WIMILWAU-L-request@rootsweb.com X-RCPT-TO: <RWFay@clsurf.com> Status: U X-PMFLAGS: 34078848 0 1 P657F0.CNM
