Hi Doug, Is Drosedow the little town that is close to Treptow? My grandfather, August Bohlmann (one of the "n"s has been dropped) was born there. I believe there were Gaulke's from there, too. According to a marriage certificate that I received not long ago, my grandmother's father was born in Drosedow. His last name was Grundemann (two dots over the "u"). I think there was a general conspiracy among my ancestors to keep their descendants in the dark about their lives, etc. Roy Bohlman Gulfport, MS
Hi Roy: Drosedow is to the east of Treptow a.d. Rega (Treptow on the Rega River) Treptow ad Rega is in Kreis Greifenberg. Drosedow is in Kreis Kolberg-Korlin and is about 17 km southwest of Kolberg, which is on the Baltic See. In 1937 there is one Bohlmann still living in Drosedow, name Walter a farmer with 19 hectares (ha), There are no Grümdemann's living there in 1937, but there are 4 Gaulke's living there, Albert a tablemaker owns 2 ha, Ewald, a worker, Karl a male property owner with 3 ha., and Louise, a female tailor-seamstress. Drosedow had an evangelical church, it's local court and it's own civil registration. I checked the FHLC for LDS and no records for Drosedow are filmed. You can get a map of Kreis Kolberg-Korlin from the Pommern Verein Freistadt in Milwaukee. They have a web site. A history of Drosedow is in the Book called "Das Kolberger Land "by Manfred Volleck.
