    3. Mary, If I do understand this relationship, and I diagrammed it, Helen would say her husband is her aunt's sister-in-law's granddaughter's husband's aunt's brother-in-law's son. Which doesn't mean the two of them are related but it must be awfully hard on the grandchildren, specially the one who does genealogy. Funny story, :) Ashley Mary Popovich wrote: > My great-grandmother was ROSALIA BRAUN > who had a sister Eva > who married Valentine Ratajczyk > who had a sister Marianna > who married Frank Dyczkowski > who had a daugther Anna > who married Walter Bodus > who had a daughter Teresa > who married Louis Szmit > whose mother was Catharina Lipinski > who had a sister Anna > who married Peter Ziembinski > who had a brother Frank > who had a son John > who married Helen Musolf > whose mother was my great-grandmother ROSALIA BRAUN > > Mary Popovich > Busia's Roots, Genealogy > > ============================== > Ancestry.com Genealogical Databases > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist2.asp > Search over 2500 databases with one easy query!

    3. Just discovered an interesting site which lists recent genealogy news making it into the media. One of the articles concerns the 19 suicide bombers of September 11 all having Social Security numbers. http://archives.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis/web/vortex/display?slug=tribes05&date=20011105 Congress Probes Death Data Privacy The practice of public access to the Social Security Administration Death Master File is getting a closer look now that investigators determined that all 19 terrorist hijackers had Social Security numbers. The Washington Post, November 8, 2001. The site also does a free surname search, which I haven't tried. The text for this suggests that you sign up to get a free, daily report. Ashley

I have a old yellowed copy of a birth record written in German. The surname is not written as Niepow but more like the names you sent me. An individual that lives in Germany looked at this record and she said it is all written in old German and she couldn't read old German. Also, during the reign of Hitler old German was discontinued.
