    3. Hi, Is there anyone on this list that is familiar with the Milwaukee area, that might know what would be the best guess for a cemetery in the New Berlin, Wauwatosa area if someone was buried there in the early 1850's? What about the Waukesha area in 1870? I am planning a trip this summer and am looking for a starting point? Are there any Baptist churches in these area's that still exist from the 1840's? I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me. Searching the HOLLISTER surname in this area. Sincerely, Allene Trowbridge Hintz

    3. I forgot to mention these folks appear in the 1920 census for Milwaukee, death dates came from the SSDI. I suspected they were there, but since Ancestry has this indexed, I was able to zero in on them. Lori wrote: > Edward Fellman b 1867 Canada d 1935. 2. Hi Thank you for your reply. I have the Granville Books in my possession and have found quite a bit of information on the Jonen's and other families from the Granville area. Last summer when I was driving through the area I found the Jonen St. but my camera battery was low and I couldn't get a picture of it. I was just wondering if the Street book had any information on the street that would be of interest to me. I have since had a response to my request. People, like you, have been so helpful. 3. Mary: I would like obits looked up for the above surnames. There would be twelve different obits. Please tell me if I am asking too much because of the number requested. Also, in what order should I send the names to you to make your job easier, by date of death or alphabetically by surname? Does the date of birth help you? All deaths occurred in Milwaukee. I would like copies of all of the obits. Please let me know the cost and I will get a check to you. Contact me off list and I will send my snail mail address. I appreciate your kindness in offering to do the lookups. It must be overwhelming at times, especially when one person requests as many as I have. 1. Re: [WiMilwau] McLAY Obituaries
    2. Mary Frank
    3. If you go to www.usgenweb.com and follow through to WI and then to MILW., you'll eventually come to this link that lists all sorts of Milwaukee newspapers from the past. Maybe your obit would have been in one of the others. When I have time I'll research which papers UWM has on microfiche. ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/wi/milwaukee/newspapers/milwnews.txt >>> co.jacoby@worldnet.att.net 03/28/02 04:11PM >>> I requested obituaries for my great grandparents from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal, but they didn't have a record. Are there other newspapers to check, or is there another source? They are both buried in Pinelawn Cemetery and had lived in Milwaukee for quite a few years prior to their deaths. MURDOCH McLAY died Sept 22, 1924 MARY ELIZABETH FOX died Dec 15, 1925 Thanks in advance for any advice or help. 3. Helen, I will look it up for you. I work at UW-Milwaukee and it appears that they have it on microfilm, which means I could copy it for you cheaply (25 cents a page). However, I'm in a crunch at work, so I couldn't do this before the end of next week or even the week after. Let me know. If anyone else wants me to look up one or more obits from the Journal, give me the names and dates of your people, and I'll see what I can do. The library catalog said they have it on microfilm from 1837-1909 and 1910 to 1995, when it merged with the Milwaukee Sentinel to become the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I don't mind looking up for other people, as it helps motivate me to look up my own people at the same time. Mary >>> littlelu@athenet.net 03/28/02 03:45PM >>> Dear Listers, Is there anyone out there who would look up an obit in the Milwaukee Journal for me? Joseph John Marter Died: May 17 or 18, 1958 Death might have occured in Douglas County, May have been buries in Milwaukee.
