    1. RE: [WiMilwau] union cermtery
    2. As others have said, I would go to the cemetery with at least one other person. It does feel a little creepy, especially if you are a woman; it is not located in the best part of town. You may be disappointed if your relatives are in the old section of the cemetery. It appears as an empty section on the cemetery map, but in fact, holds many graves whose markers have long since rotted away. That was the case with my family. Half had nice solid stones and half are in this section with no way to find them. Graceland cemetery on the north side of Milwaukee has index cards with information on them and you can look through those. That is what I did and I found it to be very helpful. Good luck! 1. [WiMilwau] Census Lookup
    2. Michael Werner
    3. Greetings All: I have a bad copy of an 1880 Census page that I would like to ask someone to replace for me. Just let me know and I will cover copying and postage costs. The page is City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, page 21, SD 124, ED 2. Line 43 entry is for Bartosch, Johann (?) , with six other family members listed. The ink appears to be blotched, which is from the original, but the right side of my page is unreadable due to the darkness of my copy. If possible, I would like the soundex entry for this family as well. Thanks to all, Michael

    3. Susan: I see you have access to the Milwaukee city directory. Could you look in it and see if there are any of my Maley or Christ relatives in the early 1900's. My ggrandmother was married to William Carl Kaska until 1902 and then at some point she married Bernard Maley. She had two daughters Mildred and Beatrice. Let me know if you need anymore information. I have a grad school and High School class picture of My grandmother and I'm trying to determine if it was in Milwaukee or Fond du Lac. My grandmother was born in 1897 or 98. Thanks, Sandy

    3. Hi Ellen, I am coming to the genealogy convention in Milwaukee also. I live in Washington state. My gg uncle John Pritzlaff started a hardware store with August Suelflohn. I haven't been able to find the "Sufeld Carriage Hardware" store that you mentioned. The hardware store that John and August started on April 1, 1850 was located at 299 - 3rd Street. It is now part of the Old World Third Street District. There are walking tours of that area but they don't begin until June. I would really enjoy walking those streets with the decendents of people who originally worked in that area. What do you think? I may be talking about a whole different area. Anybody out there have a better perspective than I do on this? 3. Mary, My source for the name of the street came from Anna OTT- LINGER's death certificate. She died on July 03, 1925, and this was her address. Her husband, Dr. Joseph LINGER built two houses after her death. They are located at: -2446 N. 61st Street 2450 N. 61st St., Wauwatosa, Wisconsin I have pictures of these houses--both old (from an old photo album of my grandmother's) and New (1980 time-frame.) I would love to have a picture of the house at 34 Upper Parkway to compare with the pictures in the old photo album. I would be happy to reimburse anyone who could do this for me...I live in Washington State now, so I cannot do this for myself. Would be happy to do exchange research in Seattle or Washington State in exchange. Thank you in advance, Susan snokes@tscnet.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Popovich" > The problem may be that there was no Highland Avenue in 1910. 1. [WiMilwau] Virus Information
    2. Robert W Fay
    3. Hi folks, As many may know, there is a particularly nasty virus going around now called Klez H. There is some further information on it at http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1105-887354.html This is a very good time to update your antivirus program and be extra cautious about attachments. Klez is a bit different in that it forges the "FROM" name on virus infected email. If you receive an email from a friend with the virus attached it is virtually certain that the email is NOT from your friend, merely that your friends name has been forged on the email. Which brings me to my point. Earlier today I received an off list note from a subscriber concerned that someone on the Milwaukee list may be infected with Klez. It is obviously hard to tell who, if anyone, it may be with a forged address. If you have received a Klez infected email it would be EXTREMELY helpful for me if you sent the infected email to me off list with the FULL headers. If you don't know how to get full headers, then post a note to the list....someone should know. Full headers will show the originating IP number (ISP) which is not forged and if I can get 2 or 3 I might have a chance of tracking that back. A sample of full headers appears below my signature at the end of this note. Also, if you think you received a Klez infected email from this list but have deleted it, please drop me a note off list. Finally, if there really is an infected computer on the list, I should also get a virus back in the next day or so. Thanks for the help with this problem, Bob Fay List Administrator Full headers look like this: Received: from lists7.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.56] by mail.clsurf.com with ESMTP (SMTPD32-7.06) id A42F9A3025A; Sat, 04 May 2002 16:35:43 -0500 Received: (from slist@localhost) by lists7.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id g44LKiZ00898; Sat, 4 May 2002 15:20:44 -0600 Resent-Date: Sat, 4 May 2002 15:20:44 -0600 X-Original-Sender: Chommert@aol.com Sat May 4 15:20:43 2002 From: Chommert@aol.com Message-ID: <194.6863467.2a05aa99@aol.com> Date: Sat, 4 May 2002 17:20:25 EDT Old-To: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 4.0 for Windows 95 sub 113 Subject: [WiMilwau] Re: WIMILWAU-D Digest V02 #41 Resent-Message-ID: <Nnwl1B.A.pN.rCF18@lists7.rootsweb.com> To: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com Resent-From: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com Reply-To: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com X-Mailing-List: <WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com> archive/latest/4264 X-Loop: WIMILWAU-L@rootsweb.com Precedence: list Resent-Sender: WIMILWAU-L-request@rootsweb.com X-RCPT-TO: <RWFay@clsurf.com> Status: U X-PMFLAGS: 34078848 0 1 P657F0.CNM

I'm glad to see so many people on here with Telephone Co. connections. I will start going through the photos to sort them for scanning, so I can share with whoever is interested. >>> busia@mindspring.com 05/04/02 12:28AM >>> Evergreen 4-2416 was our phone number when I was a girl.
