    1. Frank & Lucille Crupi
    2. Kathy F.
    3. Hi, Hi, Looking for info on a Frank & Lucille Crupi & their children, grandchildren etc... Lucille was born July 1914 to Arthur Neuman AKA LEFTY & Edna Wartchow in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I know Frank & Lucille were alive in 1957 when her father died in Fox Lake, Dodge County, Wisconsin. They were listed in his will but no location was given for them. I have no further info upon either person. Any help appreciated. I checked out the genforum & rootsweb message boards. Rootsweb & ancestry have same info-genforum has no Crupi surname period. SSDI has 1 Frank Crupi died in Milw but he is some 21 yrs older than Lucille. Not unheard of of for her marry so,meone old enough to be her father but a bit unusual in that time frame. The other Frank Crupis that could possibly be him did not die in Wi. with no idea which could or could not be him. No Lucille Crupi , Crupe, Crupie, Krupe, shows up in SSDI. A Lucy Crupi shows up but birthdate is off by 2 yrs with her residing in Massachusettes & SSDI # issued in Connecticut.. Thank you, Kathy

My gggrandmother was Helena Weiand, born in Prussia, and she married my gggrandfather, Wilhlem Kuhn in Old St. Mary's Catholic Church in Milwaukee in 1853. I'm interested in what Weiand information you have, particularly where the family was located at the time of the 1850 census. Thanks for any help you can give. Also....it's a long shot but my maternal ggrandfather was Anton Hartmann who came to the Milwaukee area in the mid 1800's and married in Jefferson Co. What Hartmann's do you connect with? 1. Re: [WiMilwau] Immigration Information Suggestions
    2. Richard Severin
    3. Laura, I did not come across the names Tacke and Kumheln during my search for Severin. I did not find any information from the LDS films regarding church records for Holzminden Germany. I then posted messages on several mailing lists asking about Holzminden. I received an answer from a Reinhard Freytag in Germany who had done research in Holzminden on his family. During his search he had come across the name Severin many times. He told me to write to a retired church secretary in Holzminden and ask about church records. I did and she provided records for Severin back to 1695 for a fee. This all happened about 2 years ago. At that time she was 73 years old. She also told me that she had done some research for a Monegold family in Hartford WI. ( a Monegold and Severin married ). I called and the wife told me yes she did research for their family and that they had taken a trip to Holzminden and Irmgard was their guide. But that all occurred many years ago. As a suggestion I would e-mail Reinhard J. Freytag at [email protected] and ask if he has come across the names Tacke and Kumheln. If you decide to write to Irmgard let me know and I will give you her address. The letter has to be in German but that is no problem as there is a website that has real people that will translate ENG>GER and GER>ENG at no cost. Hope this helps Richard Severin ----- Original Message ----- From: "LauraBender" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, December 18, 2004 11:02 AM Subject: Re: [WiMilwau] Immigration Information Suggestions > Tacke and Kumheln are the surnames I am looking for. > > Karl Tacke Married Johanna Kumheln in Germany and immigrated with > their children to Milwaukee Wisconsin. > > Laura > On Dec 18, 2004, at 10:44 AM, Richard Severin wrote: > > > Laura, > > My Severin ancestors are from Holzminden Germany. 2. Laura, I would suggest you go to the LDS site on the computer next http://www.familysearch.org/Search/searchigi.asp My husband's family came from Germany and we had good luck searching this site. Then you can order the films that are relavant through your closest Family History Center. Many church records have been put on those films and you can get copies of the original records. Good luck in your searching. Colleen

    3. I need suggestions on places to go for information on immigration records. I have the Name, birthdate, death date & location, wife and children, the naturalization papers of my GG Grandparents. I have Naturalization papers stating: immigration at Oct 1881 from Bremen, they ended up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I would like to find the parents, grandparents etc., of my GG Grandparents in Germany. Are there any books I can browse online or purchase that would list immigrants? Is my next step to contact a German translator and write to the German churches in the Holzminden, Braunschweig, Germany area for more ancestor information? Laura [email protected]

    3. Shelly, This is nice for you to rescue such valuable photos. Although not my family, I may suggest you share them on www.ancientfaces.com. Shelley Cardiel <[email protected]> wrote: I've "rescued" a group of three old photographs all belonging to the MORGAN Family. The photographs are as follows: 1 - Jean MORGAN COOK, photo taken at the Hattens Studio in Groton, South Dakota, probably taken in the early 1900's with Jean appearing to be in her teens at the time 2 - Catherine MORGAN DAVIS, photo taken at the Zivney Studio w/no location provided, probably also taken in the early 1900's with Catherine appearing to be in her teens or 20's at the time 3 - Catherine MORGAN DAVIS, photo taken at the Klein A. Guttenstein Studio in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, probably in the early 1900's with Catherine appearing to be in her teens at the time The handwritten identification on all three was made by the same hand, so I know that the photographs all belong to the same family. I'm hoping to locate someone from this MORGAN Family so that the photographs can be returned to their rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.
