    1. [WiMilwau] Fueger
    2. Marvin Hoerig
    3. Andrea, I gave you everything I had on Max Fueger & Margaretha Schreck. Most all this info was taken from the Fed. Census for Milwaukee. You said that Ditt was a rare surname but I was sure I had seen that name recently. I checked my "Revolutionäre in Baden 1848/1849 " by Heinrich Raab and found 4 Ditts. They were: Johann Ditt -- Militär Soldat Ludwig Ditt -- (nothing listed) Philipp Ditt -- (nothing listed) Sebastian Ditt -- Tüncher All 4 listed Bretzenheim as their residence and Hessen-Darmstadt as their country of origin. They were all imprisoned in 1849 at Rastatt in Fort A. Only Sebastian listed his age as 34 years old. Hope this helps. 2. Marvin, Do you have any more information regarding Max Fueger and Margaretha Schreck from Germany? Maybe some information from Germany will give me the clue. Anton Ditt was born about 1827 in ??? Baden. I did not except Eberle to show up in your database and only possibly Ditt. I really hit the jackpot on the Eberle line. A couple years ago, a gentleman in Germany sent me a GEDCOM with all of my direct ancestors back to the 1600s. That line is the most complete of any line! The Ditts are quite another story. Ditt is a rare name and I have not been able to make any definite connections to any other Ditt - either in the US or Germany. Same with his second wife, Freiderike Heiliger Schreck DITT. Freiderike was supposedly born in Gelnhausen, Hesse. She immigrated in 1853 and was on the same boat as Peter Schreck whom she married and they lived in Tell City, IN. These problems make genealogy fun and interesting. 1. RE: [WiMilwau] Roll Call
    2. Marvin, I am researching the Fuegers because of an indirect link. So I do not know whether I am related to the Fuegers or not but it may help me get past a brick wall. My gg grandmother was Juliette (Julia) Wihelmina DITT. Her parents were my ggg grandparents, Anton Ditt and Freiderike Heiliger Schreck. Her baptismal sponsors were Juliette Fueger and Wilhelm Heitmann who later married. Juliette was a daughter of Max Fueger. Julia had four sons. My g grandfathers name was Alfred Max Edward EBERLE. His baptismal sponsor was Alma Heitmann, daughter of Wilhelm and Juliette Heitmann. Edward Fueger was a son of Max Fueger. Max Fueger was married to Margarethe Schreck in Milwaukee. Freiderike's first husband was Peter Schreck. The Fuegers lived in Milwaukee for years and years. However, my Ditt ancestors only lived in Milwaukee for 1 to 2 years around the time of Julia's birth in 1868. My g grandfather, Alfred was born in Chicago in 1892. I cannot find a strong naming pattern among relatives in my Eberle line yet two ancestors are named after the Fuegers! And why such a strong affiliation when those particular ancestors spent so little time near the Fuegers? I have some marriage dates from data bases and census info but that is about it on the Fuegers. The Ditts and Eberles were Reformed or Evangelicals. I believe that the Fuegers were Catholic which is also a little strange. If you have any light to shed on my quandary, please I would value your input!
