March 24, 1862 in Kolmar, Posen, Germany; before Martin died, he signed his farm over to Wilhelm and Adolph; d. Dec. 27, 1941 in Wautoma, WI; buried in Richford Cemetery -- he came to America with his parents when he was two years old and settled on a farm near Neshkoro; William married Ernestine Tena Floeter on Jan. 26, 1887 on Jan. 20, 1903 William married Bertha Amanda Mittelstaedt WEDELL SCHUBERT who was newly widowed and pregnant when her first husband (a blacksmith) was kicked to death by a horse (Bertha was b. July 2, 1880 and d. Feb. 17, 1970, the daughter of Ludwig Mittelstaedt and Pauline Amelia Meyer MITTELSTAEDT -- Bertha’s grandfather was a brother of Anna Dorothea Mittelstaedt [who is my director ancestor through her daughter Maria Julianna Wichner; I haven't figured out who Anna Mittelstaedt's parents are yet], and her sister, Alvine Emilie Mittelstaedt KRAUSE SCHUBERT married William Krause and had Othelia, who married Ferdinand Schubert, son of Gustav and Mathilda Schubert) The children that Evaline Tagatz knew about born to William and Bertha were: (i) Arnold Robert Schubert, b. 1904, lived on farm near Mecan River source near Deerfield; (ii) Ella Louise Schubert, b. May 12, 1906, married Albert Pomplum [NOTE: spelled with an "M" at the end in the notes I found; more likely Pomplun] of Newton who lived on a farm and worked in a warehouse in Coloma a child to Bertha from prior husband is Herman Wedell in Wautoma
