Surnames: Dahlke, Erbe Classification: Death Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3EC.2ACE/653.1 Message Board Post: Montello Express, July 1905 Germania news column Died: Gottlieb Dahlke, an old resident of Neshkoro and owner of the "Pond Lily Roller Mill," died at his home July 10 after a lingering illness. Deceased was born in Kolmar, Germany, March 23, 1838. In 1855 he came to America and settled with his parents in Michigan City wher ehe lived nine years; in 1864 he came to Wisconsin and purchased a farm near Germania, where he lived until the spring of 1903, when he removed to Neshkoro and bought the mill. Shortly after Mr. Dahlke came to Wisconsin, he enlisted as a soldier and bravely fought for the union of our great country from 1864 to 1865. After he returned from the battlefield he was united in marriage to Henrietta Erbe, Nov. 8, 1865. He was the fathe rof nine children, four sons and five daughters, three sons and four daughters surviving him. C. Rowald of Germania officiated.
