Maybe you can look for the school; if it still exists, it might have a name that is useful (Indian Sands School??). It is shown on the map about at the junction of 22 and Fox Ln., but on the west side of the road. The "Lake" does not exist in the 1878 map - the river still winds around itself. But I can see where it matches your description. Just out of curiosity, why do you think that is the Indian Sands area? I agree that Tuttle Lake doesn't seem quite right, but what clues did you find at your new place? Thanks for the info. Looking forward to your museum visit!
