He was my ancestor, and I didn't know who his wife was or where he was born. I recently found John on the 1900 Federal Census in Packwaukee, Marquette Co. His name was spelled John Yankee on this census. He was listed as being Gotlieb Zarbock's father-in-law (age 69 at the time, born Nov. 1856 in Germany). John was living with his daughter (Gusta - age 41) at the time plus Gusta and Gotlieb's children Gust (age 19), Bertha (age 17), Gusta (age 16), Minnie (age 10), Alfred [I think - this name is hard to read] (age 7), Manda (age 3). Also living in this household was George Street (in-law, age 22) and George's wife and Gotlieb's daughter Emma (age 20 or 21 -- says 20 on form with the number 1 above the 0). This census shows that Gusta (John Jahnke's daughter) immigrated in 1872 from Germany. Gusta and Gotlieb were married 22 years at the time this census was taken. Jean B.
