My Herman was born in Posen and immigrated in 1868. (I have the ship's passenger list for the Schmid which includes him, Rudolph, Wilhelm and their parents, Julius and Auguste.) I have tried to e-mail someone else with links to the Mecan (Gustav) Stelters but received no reply. There was also a family of Stelters in Metomen. It's hard to imagine that they all came from Posen, settled in the same area, and are unrelated. If you learn anything else about Behl, please let me know. I will contact you with any info. I get.
