WI], May 26, 1988 (posted with permission from the Marquette Co Tribune, places of residence of survivors omitted) Arnold William SMITH, age 87, of Oxford, WI, died Thursday May 19, 1988 at Montello. He was born Nov. 28, 1900 in the township of Oxford, Marquette Co., Wisconsin, the son of Adam and Marie (SCHIELKE) SMITH. He was a retired meat packer having worked for Armour Meat Packing Company and Hoye Meat Packing Company of Milwaukee. He was a member of the Oxford Presbyterian church, and Masonic Lodge #91 of Oxford, and the Eastern Star Chapter #205 of Oxford. He was married to Edith E. FOOTE September 7, 1929. He is survived by his wife, Edith, of Oxford; one son-in-law, Phillip SCHERFF; on grandson; two brothers, Earl (Anna May) and Harold (Mildred); four sisters, Lorella ROBINSON, Marguerite ZINKE, Lona (Steward) MITCHELL, and Mildred JUNGENBERG; one sister-in-law, Myrtle SMITH; and other relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents; one daughter, Ann Marie SCHERFF, in 1985; one brother, Howard; and one sister, Helen. Funeral services were held Monday, May 23 at the Oxford Presbyterian church, with Rev. Carol Hermann officiating. Burial of cremains will be at the Oxford cemetery at a later date. Steinhaus Funeral Home of Westfield, Wisconsin assisted the family. *Note: I am not a relative and have no further information on these families.
