    3. I had a request for help from a researcher recently and thought the following might also be of interest to those on this mailing list: The University of Wisconsin has on their website a fully scanned copy of Atlas des Deutschen Reichs [Atlas of the German Empire] by Ludwig Ravenstein (Leipzig: Bibliographisches Institut, 1883) <http://www.library.wisc.edu/etext/ravenstein/#Overview>. It is a good resource, but be forewarned, the pages seem to load very slowly. Another site that may be of value to you, in your searches for Prussian and German place names, is Kartenmeister (www.kartenmeister.com) a database of Prussian place names (including both German and Polish place names). There is also a resource on the Marquette County pages for those who are somewhat new to Prussian genealogy, written by Daryl Weishaar and myself: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimarque/prusinfo.html We do not claim to know everything there is to know about German genealogy but have tried to produce a brief "Prussia 101" overview to help you in your search. At the end of the article a number of helpful resources are listed to assist you in learning more about Prussian history and geography. Joan Coordinator Adams Co.
