If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn. Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow. Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement. Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character. Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons. Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference. It's easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks. Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Wilhelm and Henriette were my ggg grandparents, and I was trying to locate Wilhelm's siblings. I have so many questions to ask. I have a lot of information on wilhelm, and the family line on down through him, but possibly you have more. I am also curious as to what happened to august and juliane - where they migrated to, family, etc. Were there any other siblings? I was trying to figure that out, but couldn't find any more which i thought was odd. I was wondering whether a johann zellmer and anna maria schalm who were having children in putzig at the same time were johann and anna christina also, but records were transcribed wrong. Do you have any info about johann and anna christina? What info do you have about putzig, do you have the parish names and everything? Where does anna rosina zellmer fall into all this? Sorry for all the questions, it just sounds like you have quite a bit of info to help me out. It was good to ta! lk to a distant relative! Let me know what info you have and I will give you mine also if I have anything of interest to you. Either post again and I will receive the message, or send me a direct email - either way is fine. Thanks so much for you help. Stephanie

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3EC.2ACE/600.1 Message Board Post: Stephanie: I have an extensive database of Zellmer records from Putzig and surroundings and these include three children of Johann Zellmer and his wife Anna Christina Schulz. They are: (1) August, who was born 2 May 1820 and married Ernestine Wilhelmine Krüger from Follstein on 28 Aug 1842, (2) Wilhelm, who was born 31 Oct 1822 and married Henriette Markwarth on 18 May 1852, and (3) Juliane, who was born 26 Jun 1825 and married Wilhelm Weggen from Neuhöfen on 24 May 1846. If any of these are yours, then we are likely distantly related through the Zellmer families that immigrated to Marquette County. I'd be happy to share additional info on both the Zellmer family and the Schwark family (my great great grandparents were Gottlieb Schwark and his wife Anna Rosina Zellmer, of Crystal Lake). Steve

I believe he is the same august zellmer who lived in marquette county in the shields township census of 1885 , but I am not sure. If anyone could tie this up for me, I'd appreciate it. I am trying to determine if this is the same man who was the brother of my ggg grandfather wilhelm zellmer born 1822.

    3. Hello All, Thanks to Ed and Rebecca Luhm for recommending Dave Marotz's website this week. Dave's collection of thousands of German Lutheran church records is now linked to the Marquette pages under the churches subject heading. The records Dave has placed on his site so far are from the Ev. Lutheran Church and include the 5 churches in Marquette Co: Crystal Lake (Budsin), Shields (Germania), Mecan, Newton and Springfield. Dave says it is a very small portion of the total records and that he would like to someday continue this project. Added Charles Babcock's biography to the county history page. If you have biographies from the 1890 Portrait and Biographical Album of Green Lake, Marquette and Waushara Counties, Wisconsin and would like to contribute them to the online collection, please contact Joan. 2. Slager Family
    3. The LEONARD Family Cemetery is located near the Indian Echoes Campground where you purchased your cabin. It has been fenced, cleaned and restored by my relatives. The LEONARD families came to the Indian Lands (Sands) area before 1863. The cemetery was part of the John Barrett farm. The cemetery parcel was purchased specifically for a cemetery. Buried there are Ezra Leonard who was born in 1813 in the state of New York and his wife Abigail Segar born in 1823 in Massachusetts. Several of their 13 children including two sons who died in the Civil War are buried there. Other related family buried there include the surnames THOMPKINS and KIP. I just discovered that I not only have a Mitchell family that used to live in the area but a Diamond family too. Daniel Diamond and his wife Frances H. (Cotter). One of their sons was James William Diamond, born 1870. I don't have any idea how long the Mitchell's were in Indian Sands/Lands but they immigrated in 1848 and show up on the Marquette County 1850 census. From your description the area sounds beautiful!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3EC.2ACE/596.3.1 Message Board Post: Looking at the 1878 map of that area, there are no settlements listed, but there is a school shown right across what is now 22. Maybe you can look for the school; if it still exists, it might have a name that is useful (Indian Sands School??). It is shown on the map about at the junction of 22 and Fox Ln., but on the west side of the road. The "Lake" does not exist in the 1878 map - the river still winds around itself. But I can see where it matches your description. Just out of curiosity, why do you think that is the Indian Sands area? I agree that Tuttle Lake doesn't seem quite right, but what clues did you find at your new place? Thanks for the info. Looking forward to your museum visit!
