Surnames: Kreiser, Murphy, Gorey, Pender, Cotter Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3EC.2ACE/534.1 Message Board Post: This is a reply to an obituary of Henry Kreiser, which was posted on the Marquette County, Wisconsin, USA, message board by Joan Benner, in her role as administrator of, and contributor to, this message board. As stated in the obituary, this Henry Kreiser was the husband of Mary Murphy of Montello. I am researching this Murphy family. Mary Murphy was born in Montello in 1862. Her parents were John Charles Murphy and Margaret Gorey, Irish-Catholic immigrants who settled in Montello in 1855 or 1856. After the death of her huband Henry Kreiser, Mary married Edward Cotter of Montello. Later in her life, she worked as a matron in the Milwaukee County Jail. She died in 1935 or 1936. She had no descendants. She was generally called by her nickname, which was "Mamie." I am a descendant of her sister, Margaret Murphy, who married Thomas Pender of Montello. I hope that anyone else who is researching this Murphy family will contact me.
