    3. ATTENTION: Marinette County Researchers I just wanted to let you know that Rootsweb/Ancestry.com has replaced the GenConnect message boards with a new system. All the messages that were posted to the GenConnect boards are now located on the new board. I have placed links to the new board on the Marinette County WIGenWeb pages under Biographies, Obituaries, and Surname Queries. Cut and paste this link to your browser to view the new board: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.united-20-stat es.states.wisconsin.counties.marinette&o=1&maxrows=25&dir=next They are still working out some of the "bugs" in the system and refining things according to the requests of some of us board administrators, but things should be working soon. When the system is working at full capacity, you will again see board postings forwarded to this list via a "gateway," just as you did with the former GenConnect system. Some of the main features of the new system are: 1) Where Marinette County used to have separate boards for Biographies, Obituaries, and Queries, there is now just one board for all Marinette County data. A drop-down list allows you to classify the type of posting (obit, bio, will, etc.) 2) The link to the Marinette County site and contact information for the board administrator is accessible via the Admin Info link. 3) The new boards support message threading with an Expand/Collapse feature. If you click on 'Expand,' all of the messages in the thread will open and you can scroll through the list without having to open each message individually. Click on 'Collapse' and you will return to viewing just the subject lines in a list. 4) When you click on the name of the message submitter the system will bring up all other messages that person has submitted to any Rootsweb or GenConnect board. 5) You can now add attachments to your postings. This will allow you to add GEDCOM files, or graphics in .JPG or .GIF format. Deana Hipke Marinette County WiGenWeb Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~wimarine
