By Susan Rynders-Kopec 1998 Marinette Eagle Star Newspaper dated Dec. 16, 1899 (film located at the Wisconsin State Historical Society in Madison, Wis.) H.Zech's Career. The work of H. Zech stands out prominently as one of the most important factors in the recent agricultural developement of Marinette County. His colonization work at Crivitz started the ball rolling. In 1895 he purchased the plant of the Butler Mueller Co. at Crivitz and immediately effected a complete metamorphis of the town. and so on. My mother was a Witt from the Crivitz Area. Her grandfather, Peter Witt helped Mr. Zech settle the area and helped to bring in the Polish settlers from Milwaukee and Poland. Good luck with your search, Susan Rynders-Kopec
