She had been in ill health for five years and was hospitalized at Madison for four weeks. Mrs. Polomis, the former Laura E. Smiley, was born at Goodman May 9, 1927. When she was four years old she came to Amberg with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Smiley. She was graduated from Amberg high school in 1945 and on December 7, 1949, she was married to Louis Polomis. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by six brothers and sisters. They are Melvin, Jim and Loren Smiley of Amberg, Robert Smiley with the U. S. Navy at Newport R. I., Miss Violette Jean Smiley of Milwaukee, and Miss Gloria Smiley of Amberg. The body is at Morasky funeral home in Wausaukee where it may be viewed from 2 p.m. Wednesday until 1:30 a.m. Thursday when it will be taken to Amberg Presbyterian church. The Rev. Leland Rubesh will conduct final rites at 2 p.m. Thursday and burial will be in the Amberg cemetery.
