Wiltshire On Tuesday Double funeral services were conducted Tuesday Oct. 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the Morasky Funeral Home at Wausaukee for Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Wiltshire of Athelstane. Rev. Edward Lutz of Pound Assembly of God Church officiated and burial was in the Athelstane cemetery. Mrs. Wiltshire died Saturday, Oct. 12, at 5:20 a.m. in the Ida McVane Memorial Home at Crivitz where she had been a patient since Sept. 30. Samuel J. Wiltshire, 77, died Sunday at 9:40 a.m., in the Ida McVane Memorial Home in Crivitz. The former Emma Makovsky was born in Chicago May 14, 1891 and came to the Athelstane area in 1900 and moved to Zion, Ill., in 1902. She returned to Athelstane in 1905 and married Samuel Wiltshire Feb. 25, 1909, at Iron Mountain. She was a member of Pound Assembly of God church. Mr. Wiltshire served as assessor of the Town of Silver Cliff and was a sawmill operator and woodsman all his life. He was born Nov. 2, 1885, in Morgan Park, Ill., and resided at Sun Prairie and Streeter, Ill., before moving to Athelstane at the age of eight years. He was an avid letter writer and frequently wrote letters to the editor column of the PESHTIGO TIMES to express his views on conservation subjects. The couple are survived by a son, Samuel A., and a daughter, Mrs. Carl Jensen, of Athelstane; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Alfred Makovsky of Athelstane, Thomas of Washington, and John Makovsky of Loma Linda, Calif., five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Cummings of Athelstane, Mrs. Ruth Cummings of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Elizabeth Krumrei of Amberg, Mrs. Georgia Miller of Athelstane and Mrs. Evelyn Paust of route 2, Crivitz. His other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Busker of Forreston, Ill., Mrs. Frances James of Freeport, Ill., and Miss Lillian Wiltshire of Branch, Mich.
