Hi listers, I hope I didn't send this already. I can't tell if it went out or not. I got an error message and I haven't seen it on the digest, so I am trying to send it again. I am hoping someone out there is better with geography than me.I have some pages of a "Commemorative Biographical Record" written 1896, and we all know THEY never made a mistake, that says some of my ancestors. who are written up in this book had a brother living in Ontonagon, Wisconsin. I can't find it on any current map. Was/is it in Marinette County? Does anyone know how I can find out when or if a company was established? My g-grandfather & his brother were in real estate sometime between 1853 and 1874. The only name for the firm I have is Daniel & James Cook. According to the book, in refference to James "He also dealt to some extent in real estate, at the time of his death owning a considerable amount of property in and about Marinette, including the ground whereon the First National Bank building now stands", but in the bio for Daniel nothing is said about a real estate firm.Nancy ----- Sent using MailStart.com ( http://MailStart.Com/welcome.html ) The FREE way to access your mailbox via any web browser, anywhere!
