Malmstadt Dies Friday At Hospital Francis E. Malmstadt, 57, of 1305 Armstrong St., Marinette, died Friday afternoon at Theda Clark Hospital, Neenah, following a brief illness. He was born May 2, 1914, in Marinette and spent most of his life here. Mr. Malmstadt married the former Muriel Liska Dec. 28, 1937. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945. A graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Mr. Malmstadt starred on the basketball team there and was also active in local bowling leagues and in golfing. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Marinette, and Little River Country Club. He and his brother, Clayton, owned and operated Malmstadt Brothers Painting Company in Marinette. Survivors include his widow; and another brother Irvine of Menominee; five sisters, Mrs. Ed Matz, Mrs. Herbert Wickman, Mrs. Robert Fischer, all of Marinette; Mrs. Ed Bero of Menominee and Mrs. John Maloney of Green Bay. Friends may call at Thielen funeral home Sunday from 4 p.m. A wake service will be held there Sunday at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place Monday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Stanley Kolbusz will officiate and burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
