Polomis, 68, prominent Wausaukee businessman, died today at his home after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Polomis served as clerk of the village and was a plumbing and heating contractor in Wausaukee. For many years he also served as clerk of the school board. + + + He was born March 12, 1900, in Czechoslovakia and came to this country five years later with his parents. The family settled in Wausaukee. Mr. Polomis was a 1918 graduate of Wausaukee High School and earned a bachelor of science degree at Oshkosh State Normal. He taught mathematics and science at Ashland, Omro High Schools for three years. After teaching he returned to Wausaukee and became a co-owner in the family creamery business. For many years he served as an usher and commentator at St. Augustine Catholic Church where he also was a member of the Holy Name Society. H was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He married the former Evelyn Spangler in 1929 at Wausaukee. She survives along with a son, James, of Boston, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs. John Dal Santo of Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Duquaine of Green Bay and Mrs. Michael Stajduhar of Wausaukee; five brothers, Louis, Anton and George of Wausaukee, Joseph of Norway, Mich.; and Frank of Marinette, and three grandchildren. Two brothers, Peter and Charles, preceded him in death. The body is at Morasky funeral home where arrangements will be announced.
