    1. [WIMARINE] Re: Marinette Hotels
    2. Do you know the owners of the Marinette House? I think my greatgrandfather once owned it. His name was Otto Mathes. Was it on Main Street? He collected all kinds of old coins. I know my father had canning jars full of Indian Head pennies he got from his grandfather. My father lived on Stephenson Street. He and his brother use to "get" watermelons from the traincars near their home.

    1. [WIMARINE] Re: MARINETTE HOTELS
    2. Can't say as that I know much, but I do currently live in Marinette, WI and would be happy to help. I -do- know that when somebody says "wicker" and "Marinette" or "Menominee", it is a safe bet that it came from the Lloyd-Flanders wicker factory in Menominee. They have been in business since 1900, I believe. Jason Flatt - feel free to e-mail me at: DocFlatt@cybrzn.com

    1. [WIMARINE] Re: Junk/Yunk
    2. Hello Paul, I'm so happy you saw my message! Shortly after I posted it, I was in contact with Donna, who has also done research on the Junk family. She was able to give me quite a bit of information. The Mathias Junk I am researching is the son of Mathias and Elizabetha Junk of Kewaunee Co. I am still looking for when Mathias' first wife, Susana Clemens died and where she is buried. Mathias remarried a woman named Mary Weber, but I don't know when or where the marriage took place. Maybe you can help me with these questions. What line have you researched? There might be something I could help you with as well. Keep in touch, Norma

    1. [WIMARINE] PELKEY 1919 & HEBERT 1893 marriages to Alvina BOYER
    2. TOM GLASSEL
    3. Looking for more information about Frank PELKEY and his wife Alvina or Vinna BOYER. They were married in about April, 1919, in Menominee, MI. This was Alvina's 3rd marriage; her first husband was Alfred DELUDE / DULUDE, and her second marriage had been on 27 May 1893 in Marinette, to Alphonse O. HEBERT. Alvina & Alphonse had 2 known sons, Onfer HEBERT who d. inf., and Clovis HEBERT, who mar Lucy / Lucille BRAULT / BREAULT/ BROULT on 24 Apr 1919 Milwaukee WI. Did Alvina have other children, any grandchildren? Alvina was probably born in Malone NY, no idea of date, to Israel BOYER and his 2nd wife, Adeline PETELLE. The BOYERs moved to the Marinette / Menominee area in 1860's / 1870's?, where we think most of Israel's children from both marriages also relocated from north-eastern NY. Some of them were bricklayers, and Israel had a boarding house, the Central House, on the southeast corner of John & Vine Streets, Marinette. [Later Alphonse HEBERT operated a saloon at that same location.] Happy to exchange info, Tom & Barb Glassel

    1. [WIMARINE] Marriage Alice Lauerman & Dr. Francis Boyle 1928
    2. Marinette Eagle-Star Thursday, July 5, 1928 "FASHIONABLE ASSEMBLAGE WITNESSES BOYLE-LAUERMAN NUPTIALS TODAY One of the prettiest of the summer weddings took place in Our Lady of Lourdes church this morning at half after nine o'clock when Miss Alice Marie Lauerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles John Lauerman, 1961 Riverside avenue, became the bride of Dr. Francis Maurice Boyle, son of Mrs. John Boyle, 1614 Hall avenue. Miss Lauerman wore a gown of heavy ivory satin made bodice fashion with long, close sleeves and godettes of tulle varied in length to form a demi-train. The simplicity of her veil added to its beauty--a mass of tulle en train, a band of rose point lace and a cluster of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of candidum lilies. The Bridal Retinue Miss Lauerman chose as her bridesmaids, Miss Catherine Lauerman, Mrs. Robert Emmett Cleary, formerly Miss Faith Lauerman and Miss Elizabeth Lauerman. The bride's only sister, Miss Helen Lauerman, was maid of honor. They wore chiffon gowns in shades of pink with ostritch feather trimming and large drooping summer hats to match. They carried arm bouquets of pink roses, pink and lavendar sweet peas and baby's breath. Henry Lauerman was best man, he and the groom awaiting the approach of the bride and her retinue at the sanctuary gates. Ira Westburg, Robert J. Cleary, and Frank J. Lauerman, Jr., were the ushers. Beautiful Decorations The interior of the ediface had been transformed by Laursen, the florist, into a bower of beauty. Against an altar background of palms and ferns were the tall tapers and hundreds of large pink and white choice peony blossoms which had been carefully nurtured by Charles J. Lauerman in the garden of his Riverside home. The altar rail was ridged with mock orange and ferns and banked with cedar. The main aisle, thickly carpeted with Oriental coverings, was lined with tall candle holders, each hung with a basket of white peonies and larkspur and fastened with a large maline bow. Entrance of the Bride As the strains of the Lohengrin's Wedding March resounded, with Mrs. Mary Louise Nadeau Larsen, Green Bay, presiding at the organ, Miss Lauerman walked up the illuminated aisle on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. The Very Rev. Francis Gregory Tulley, dean and rector, celebrated the Mass and officiated at the marriage cermony. Assisting him in the sanctuary were the Rev. Fathers Peter Salm, J. W. R. McGuire and R.P. Wagner. During the Offertory Mrs. Daniel Boyle of Iron Mountain, sister-in-law of the groom, sang Millard's Ave Maria and O Lord I Am Not Worthy. Mendelsohn's March was played as the recessional. Reception - Breakfast After the marriage ceremonies the invited guests accompanied the bride and groom to the parental home of the bride in Riverside where a reception was held in the parlors. Mrs. Lauerman, mother of the bride, wore a gown of beige Chantilly lace and a large black hat. Mrs. Boyle, the groom's mother, wore black silk lace and a black hat. Following the reception the wedding breakfast was served. The dining room was artistically decorated in pink and white, the walls of the receiving rooms were banked with woodwardia ferns, palms, peonies and mock orange blossoms. During the hours of the reception and breakfast the guests were delightfully entertained by the Larsen orchestra of Green Bay. Many of the guests remained to visit the third floor hall where the beautiful and costly gifts presented to Dr. and Mrs. Boyle were artistically arranged. Guests From Away Many out-of-town guests were here for the occasion, including the Rev, J. W. R. Maguire, president of St. Viator's College, Bourbonnais, Illinois; Miss Edna Dorsey, Mrs. Jerry Sexton, Theodore Dirksen, Springfield, Ill.; Miss Ruth Lamb, Milwaukee; Miss Marion Mooney, Clinton, Iowa; Mrs. Ralph Whitehill, Indianapolis; Miss Elizabeth Wenning, Nashville, Tenn.; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Marshall, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. W. Cablegram From Rome With the many congratulatory notes and wires received by the newly married couple was a cablegram from Pope Pius XI, thru his secretary expressing his wish for their happiness and extending his blessing. Marinette Eagle-Star, Friday, July 6, 1928 "BRIDAL COUPLE ELUDES OVER-ZEALOUS FRIENDS ON HONEYMOON TRIP Dr. and Mrs. Francis M. Boyle succeeded in cleverly eluding their over-solicitious friends after the reception and breadfast at the C. J. Lauerman home in Riverside on Thursday and had been gone an hour before their absence was learned by the guest group. A car was waiting to the rear of the Delbridge residence adjoining the Lauerman residence, and the bride and groom made their exit down the back stairway at Lauerman's, entered the car and were whisked away to Menominee, where another car was waiting at the James Mikolasek home, 319 Michigan avenue, whither their traveling bags had been previously removed. They were well on their way upon their northern wedding trip before their friends knew of their leave taking. Mrs. Boyle was Alice Lauerman before her marriage on Thursday. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Lauerman."
