The Crivitz Museum sells booklets and calendars with pictures of the area, including pictures of lumber mills, the men, local blacksmith shopes etc. If you want it--they can provide it--for a fee of course. I also found a mention of the Buttler-Mueller plant in my booklet, " Assorted Records of Marinette County-Wisconsin Featuring Crivitz, Beaver, and Pound Villages and Townships. By Susan Rynders-Kopec 1998 Marinette Eagle Star Newspaper dated Dec. 16, 1899 (film located at the Wisconsin State Historical Society in Madison, Wis.) H.Zech's Career. The work of H. Zech stands out prominently as one of the most important factors in the recent agricultural developement of Marinette County. His colonization work at Crivitz started the ball rolling. In 1895 he purchased the plant of the Butler Mueller Co. at Crivitz and immediately effected a complete metamorphis of the town. and so on. My mother was a Witt from the Crivitz Area. Her grandfather, Peter Witt helped Mr. Zech settle the area and helped to bring in the Polish settlers from Milwaukee and Poland. Good luck with your search, Susan Rynders-Kopec

They had two children that I know of: Dorothy and Frances. I believe they were born in Jasonville, Indiana. Theclam Tillie Krezewina was born April 13, 1918 in Crivitz. Baptized 14 April 1918 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Crivitz. Her parents were France Krezwina and Anna Olzewska. Her God parents were Stan Witt (my Grandfather) and Veronica Engles. She married Bernard Albin Marchewka who was(born Feb. 15, 1915 Crivitz-died Feb 18, 1992 and buried in St. Marys' Cem. Crivitz) he was the cemetery caretaker for many years. Tillie and Bernard married at St. Marys in Crivitz on Sept. 30, 1939. They had children: Jerome, Richard, and Elaine. I think Tillie has been in a nursing home for these past years. I think she may have dementia. My mother, Evelyn Witt-Rynders-Stefanac was born in Crivitz. She always frequented their home when she made trips back to her birth place. I have been working on my Witt line for many years. If you have connections--maybe you can help me fill some of my gaps as well. Sue Rynders-Kopec

God saw she was getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around her and whispered "Come to Me". With tearful eyes we watched her suffer, and saw her fade away, and though we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best. We rejoice knowing you are now in the glorious presence to our Lord and are reunited with loved ones. We will love and miss you always ...
