Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Gilbert Meyer will officiate, and burial will be in the Town of Berlin Cemetery. Friends may call at Helke East Chapel in Wausau after 3:30 p.m. Thursday, and at the church after 9 a.m. Friday. Mr. Hintz was born Jan. 13, 1897, in the Town of Berlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hintz. On June 24, 1922, in the Town of Berlin, he was married to Adeline Neitzke, who died in 1954. He was a retired tavern keeper and an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of American Legion Post 10, and the Marathon County Fish and Game Club. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Corrine Bruehling, 3904 N. Sixth St., and Mrs. Jewell Mary Borchardt, 713 Grant St., both in Wausau, and Mrs. Amaryllis Hintz, Aniwa Route 1; three brothers, Otto, North Sixth Avenue, Wausau, and Edward, Tripoli. NOTE: Only two brothers were listed in the obituary.
