Zaleski, 47, of EP 215 Highway 153 Stratford, died following her courageous battle with cancer at 7:48pm Sunday Dec 23,2001 at St Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care in Marshfield where she had been admitted earlier that day. Funeral services will be at 11am Friday at St Joseph's Catholic church in Stratford, Rev. Thomas J. Rudolph, pastor, will officiate. Florence Kaiser will be the organist for St Joseph's Church Funeral Choir. Burial will be in St Adalbert's Cemetery in the town of McMillan, Marathon County. Serving as pallbearers will be Tanner and Tyler Kattre, Brian and Jason Bredemann, Patrick Zaleski and David Burzinski. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday at the Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home and from 10am until service time Friday at the church. St Joseph's Catholic Church Parish Prayer Service will be held at 5pm Thursday at the funeral home. She was born Jan 3, 1954 in Wausau. She married Alan J. Zaleski on Dec 21,1973 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford. Susan attended G.D.Jones Grade School in Wausau and graduated from Wausau West High School in 1972. After graduation, Susan began working at Wisconsin Fuel and Light. Later, she was employed at Land o Lakes in Spencer until the time of her death. She loved being with her family and her family always came first. Susan loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors in nature and loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers. She was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 338 of Wausau. Susan is survived by her husband, Alan; her children Craig (Charity) Zaleski of Spokane, Washington, Tracey (Scott) Schneider of Unity; and her grandchildren, Killian, Daziel, Matthew and Allyssa. She is further survived by her parents, Victor and Arlene Burzinski; brother Bruce (Kathy) Kleinschmidt of Wausau; and sister Cheryl (Charles) Gassner of Wausau. A memorial fund on behalf of Susan J. Zaleski will be established at a later date.
