Pflieger, 86, 106 Florence St., Rothschild, died Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in a local hospital after being in ill health for seven months. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Janssen Funeral Home. The Rev. Vernon Dolde, pastor of Peace United Church in Schofield, will officiate and burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Pflieger was born April 26, 1878, in France, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Pflieger. Mr. Pflieger came to the United States with his parents at the age of 15 and settled in the Rothschild area. He married Amanda Kuehn in 1904. She died in 1938. On Nov. 4, 1940, he married the former Helen Schilling. The deceased retired in 1945 from the former Marathon Corp., which is now a division of American Can Co., after being employed in the Rothschild paper mill storeroom 37 years. Mr. Pflieger was a member of the Quarter Century Club and was a veteran of the Spanish American War. Survivors besides the widow include two sons, Henry, Milwaukee, and Victor, Menasha; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Johnson, 315 Weston Ave., Mrs. Frances Hoeft, 1341 S. Eighth Ave., and Mrs. Helen Bargholz, Milwaukee; a brother, Edward, Rothschild; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
