Hi, I might be able to help. There were two Herman Hardts with Athens connections. One Herman; b. 6/8/1884 Jackson, Washington Co., WI d. 6/22/1958 Town of Halsey, Marathon Co. He was married to a Meta Wollner, his father was William Hardt and Mother, Anna Koshmann. He had 8 siblings that I am aware of. The other Herman Hardt father was William Julius Hardt, b. 10/31/1860 in Germany; Mother - Caroline Knuth. I do not have the dob or death for this Herman. He had 5 siblings that I am aware of. I also believe there is a connections between these two Hardt families, but do not have any proof. My guess is that the first William above was a brother to a Carl Hardt, father of William Julius. Can you tell me your connections? You seem to be somewhat familiar with the Wausau area...do you live in Wisconsin? You said Herman was an ancestor.
