I believe it is the moniker meaning "Methodist - Episcopal." No idea what happened to the demonination or who they merged with. Maybe a United Church of Christ (UCC) minister could give you that information as they have had a tremedous amount of mergers to their own creation. There are still black churches in the South with a ME moniker but again, I don't know who they are affiliated with.
